Grace wins Mayoral Award at the Upper Hutt City Council Young Achievers Awards
Grace Tilley claimed the main award - the Mayoral Award - at the UHCC Young Achievers Awards, while four other Upper Hutt College students were also recognised.
The event, held at Whirinaki Whare Taonga, saw Grace Tilley win the main award for countless hours of work around the community and school, as well as maintaining outstanding academic achievement including at tertiary level.
Grace Seamark was recognised with the Leadership Award. Grace is the chairperson of the UHC Student Council, has organised countless events and is also a leader outside of the school in her volunteering award.
Meanwhile Lily Candy, Sophie Weston and Emily Blackadder received Honourable Mentions for their nominations.
The celebration of Upper Hutt College students did not stop there with the Kapa Haka Group opening proceedings with a strong performance.
