Senior Adventure Students Finding Their Way

UHC Admin —

ADV students in Year 12 and 13 have been out and about enjoying various trips around the region.

The ADV201 classes completed their Navigation and Tramping assessments on an overnight tramp in the Orongorongo Valley.

Students had to navigate with a map and compass and took turns leading the group, mostly in the right direction.

Students completed river crossings, braved long drops and planned and prepared all meals. The highlight for these trips is always the social time spent in huts, where students played cards, displayed magic tricks and learn the finer points of completing a puzzle.

The ADV301 classes cycle tour took on the challenge of completing the Remutaka Rail Trail from Kaitoke to Featherston.

Students spent Term 2 preparing with rides along the river trail.
