A step closer to being a barista
Some keen UHC students have successfully completed the Kickstart Barista training programme.
Students Ryan Walker, Jayda Crichton, Litesha Hodgetts-Green, and Gemma Goodwin are key members of the Year 12 Retail course and had shown enthusiasm over the year by helping to run the school's Beanie Cafe.
On the course they learned about the origins of different coffees, blends, and roasting. They practiced the art of milk frothing and how to extract a mean brew.
Highlights included pouring milk in different ways and then tasting the various types of coffee.
Head of Pathways Mr Murden looks forward to them taking control of the cafe in next years Year 13 Retail class.
