Friendly Farmer Saves Raft Trip
With their camp site closed by the local council, the ADV201 raft trip was in danger of not happening until a local farmer came to the rescue.
The two ADV201 classes combined for their popular rafting trip down the Otaki River at the start of the term.
A week prior to leaving the trip the local council closed the camping ground meaning staff had to come up with a range of alternatives including accepting help from a local farmer to base themselves in his paddock.
All students enjoyed the challenge of dodging cow poo on the way to their tents.
There were a few challenges to overcome including: cold water rafting, high wind snapping tent poles, potentially wild cows, cooking for themselves, working in with others, and the cold at night.
