Te Kanawa top of the House

UHC Admin —

The annual Top House competition was a day of colour, excitement, energy and fun! For Te Kanawa House, it was the perfect start to regaining the House Trophy from Blake House.

Scoring a commanding 3471 points for the day's competition, where year levels took part in various events against other houses, Te Kanawa House finished almost 300 points ahead of second place Blake House.

Jackson and Hillary Houses rounded out the overall placings.

However, in a day that began with pre-rehearsed House chants and then the brawn of tug of war, it was a chance for students to dust off their costumes and enjoy activities with their friends.

After the tug of war, students went to stations that included capture the flag, sprints, inflatables and fat mat rounders.  Lunch time even saw some of our Kickstart friends run water hockey - a great chance to cool down.

Finally, the day was rounded out with 4 x 100m House relays before tired students and staff headed  home for the day.

The house competition will resume later in the term.

Photos are by Year 12 students Shae Hewitt, Seth Stoneham, Kali Bishop and staff.
