For the first time since 2020, UHC has been able to acknowledge those students who gained NCEA with a Merit or Excellence Endorsement at a full school Academic Assembly.

With abbreviated versions of the Academic Assembly happening in previous years, the school was very happy to be able to do the full version in 2024.

Year 13 students, Ellie Cowley and Sofia Johnston, were also acknowledged for gaining English Scholarships in 2023 - a remarkable achievement for Year 12 students.

Former Head Girl of 2006, Ms Rachel Empig (nee Espejo), also spoke to the audience, who had packed into the Sports Centre.  

She reflected on her great memories at UHC,  as well as the challenges that she faced and the difficult decisions she had to make.
