Chess competition

UHC Admin —

The library has been a hive of intense competition as UHC's chess players battled the boards to be crowned champion. Student Edison Yang gives us a run through on the action.

In total, 65 games were played over the board of 64 squares. 30 students struggled in the UHC Chess Tournament that saw intense matchups with armies being whittled down to the last pawns, stalemates being snatched from the jaws of defeat, and dozens of kings being toppled.

Of course only one could win and by the end of the week, four were left standing.

Congratulations to Anjola Sigbeku for achieving first place and kudos to Cazna Campbell, Jayden Zhu and Vetri Senthilkumar who came second, third and fourth respectively.

Thanks to Mr Broad, Cazna, Anjola and Edison for helping with organising the tournament and making this possible, along with everyone who signed up and participated.
