Japan Festival
UHC has held its inaugural Japan Festival, and it was a raging success! Japanese student Year 9 Mahima Kumar describes the successful day!
The Japan Festival was so much fun! We got to use calligraphy brushes, to write different words in hiragana and kanji , (I wrote 桜 Sakura, 日本, Japan, and ねこ,cat).
We played a musical piece called ‘Summer festival’ on traditional Japanese drums, called Taiko. We got to try on kimonos, take pictures in the photo booth, and eat snacks while waiting.
We played games, such as fishing and ring toss, and won cool stationery. We even got to eat curry and rice, or “kare- raisu”. It was held on the 6th December, and planned by Mr. Sho Nonomura.
The day was amazing, and I’m really excited for how it’s going to turn out next year.
Thank you Nonomura sensei, for the wonderful day, and for planning it out for us!
