Year 13s Sign Off in Style

UHC Admin —

In their final event at UHC, Year 13s along with parents and staff celebrated five years in style with a memorable evening at the Silverstream Retreat.

With Head Girl Kaitlyn Tapuai and Head Boy Emoni Falepapalangi hosting the event there were a lot of laughs and trips down memory lane.

The ball committee also featured, taking the opportunity to don corsages and enter after dinner as if it was the ball that never happened due to Covid-19.

Assistant Principal Amy Perkins spoke to the packed audience about a number of lessons in life that she has learned over the years - alluding to her experiences while travelling in Europe and that of her family in Upper Hutt.

The evening was coordinated by Librarian Judy Bloomfield who received a large bouquet from the organising committee.

Principal Judith Taylor opened the evening reflecting on what life was like when the cohort first started at UHC in 2016.

Head Boy Emoni Falepapalangi was the vocals for band Fobolicious who finished the evening with a polished and energetic performance.  Other band members were Dawid Warenczuk on guitar and Philip Kananghinis on drums.

Upper Hutt College wishes all our departing students the very best and trust they will take with them the skills, knowledge and friendships they have built up in their time.
