Leaders Launched

UHC Admin —

Six of UHC's leaders spent a day at Scots College in Wellington with other student leaders from around the lower North Island learning what it takes to be an effective leader.

There were many highlights out of the day, including hearing from former Black Caps allrounder Grant Elliott.

A range of speakers had our students fizzing with ideas.  This is what some of them took out of the day:

Caeshlyn Murdoch: My highlight from the leadership conference at Scots college was the key question repeated over the day which was “who are you?”... that simple question had me questioning my morals, beliefs and what I stand for in my leadership roles.

Lucy Schofield: I really enjoyed being able to meet all the other leaders from different schools around the Wellington region and even further north, and learn how the leadership system works at their schools. It was such a fun experience.

Shakira Khan: My highlights from the conference were, listening to Jenni Prisk's key notes speech and meeting many other leaders and head students. I enjoyed meeting other leaders and talking about what they do in their school.

Mackenzie Brewer: A highlight of our leaders conference was getting to hear other people’s pathways towards leadership and how they got to be where they are now. It was very inspiring and comforting to know that everyone struggles but to understand how to overcome those.
