Upper Hutt International homestays needed!

Peter Blank —

Upper Hutt College is looking for homestay families for our International students arriving mid-late January 2026.

The school will be welcoming a large new cohort of International students in Term 1 2026 looking for a Kiwi homestay experience.

Ideal homes will have kind, caring families to support these students during their time here. Students are from a variety of countries and have varied lengths of stay from one term to one year or longer.

Homestays will be expected to treat the student as part of their family, provide meals and packed lunches, and include them in family outings.

English must be the first language spoken in the home.

Homes will receive ongoing support from the International Department throughout the duration of each student's stay, including generous payment.

Police vetting will be carried out for all family members over the age of 18 living in the home.

Anyone interested in the rewarding cultural experience of becoming a host family, please email Amanda Sharkey, International Homestay Co-ordinator: international@upperhutt.school.nz
