Upper Hutt College Year 10 student Ruby Tourelle has done it again—bringing home another gold medal and making us all incredibly proud!

After taking top honours earlier in the year at the College Sport Wellington Championships, Ruby headed to the North Island Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships in Hamilton on the 5th and 6th of April, full of confidence and determination.

Competing against the best athletes from across the Island, Ruby rose to the occasion and delivered a personal best jump of 1.65 metres—a remarkable effort on the big stage.

That incredible leap secured her the gold medal and the title of Intermediate North Island High Jump Champion!

With the high jump season now behind her, Ruby is turning her focus to football before ramping up preparations for the National Athletics Championships later in the year. She credits much of her success to the guidance of her coach, Scott Waldrom, and the unwavering support of her family.
