Over $100k in Scholarships offered to UHC students

Upper Hutt College Scholarship winners were announced at the annual Senior Prizegiving with over $100,000 worth of Scholarships won by Year 13 students. Sofia Johnson (pictured) has been offered Scholarships from Auckland University and AUT.

Students received Scholarships mainly from Universities and other tertiary institutions, following a rigorous application processes selecting from the countries top scholars.

Some students have been offered multiple Scholarships from different institutions. Some institutions are still to announce their Scholarships and will do so in the coming weeks and months.

Successful 2024 Scholarship winners are:

  • Will Robinson - International Rugby Academy of New Zealand - $5,000

  • Garrett Amyes - Otago University Māori Entrance - $17,500

  • Carolyn Ea - Otago University 150th Anniversary Entrance - $17,500

  • Robin Meijer - Auckland University 140th Anniversary Academic $5,000

  • Emily Blackadder - Victoria University Remutaka Leadership - $10,000

  • Mel Holden - Victoria University Tangiwai Excellence - $5,000

  • Eden Ingerson - Victoria University Tangiwai Excellence - $5,000

  • Sofia Johnson - Auckland University 140th Anniversary Academic - $5,000

  • Sofia Johnson - AUT Welcome to Auckland Scholarship - $24,000

  • Gabe Carr - Pacific International Hotel School $800

  • Mel Holden - Upper Hutt College Dux $500

  • Mel Holden - Otago University Dux Scholarship $6,000

  • Nathan Lamberg - Upper Hutt College Principal's Vocational Award - $400

The following students have been awarded a Victoria University International Experience Grant. The exact value is not defined and covers tuition fees for one semester at a University they attend.
