UHC's Awhina students have been making the most of swimming lessons. Student Daniel Steere reports.

Awhina students have gone on a swimming trip to Ally Todd Swim School in Whitby. We went in convoy, arrived at 11.00 and quickly got changed into our swimming gear and goggles. 

After Ally explained a few things we were split up into groups, so there would be no difficulties using the pool. It was awesome that the water was warm...it was just right!

Some people stayed in the shallow end but most went to the deep end, where we :

• played games and raced around the edge of the pool

• floated on front and back

• caught stick things under water and played with noodles.

• Swam in lanes and loops

Everyone had a great time.

A big thank you to everyone who organised the trip. It was the best.
