Student debaters have successfully argued their way to the quarter finals of the Wellington Junior Certificate Debating quarter finals.

Out of 56 Junior Certificate Debating teams from schools all over the Wellington region, the UHC debate team made it to the Quarter finals held on Wednesday. 

The team went to Queen Margaret College and successfully argued that the school day should not start at 10am. The team, made up of first speaker Aryanna Billington, second speaker Emily Blackadder, and third speaker Garrett Amyes, with a wonderful support crew who have also debated this year: Edison Yang, Emma Radcliffe, Renee Gallagher, and Robin Meijer,are now in the Quarter finals, to be held on 4th August. 

Coach and English teacher, Catherine Bowles, is very proud of the team.
