Student Daniel Steere tell us about the Awhina trip to Naenae Badminton's 'Have a Go Day'.

We learnt how to play badminton. The staff there showed us some cool and fun ways to serve the shuttle. In one of the games we had to line up and take turns hitting the shuttle. If we hit the shuttle back to the staff we could go back into the line but if we did not manage to hit it back, we had to join them on the other side of the net and try to catch the shuttle with them.

There were lots of other schools participating and we played in mixed groups with them, not against them which was a change from AWD Sports. It was chaotic, it was really loud. 

But still in the end it was really fun. I enjoyed myself.
