Sounds, sun and smiling students at Teddy Bears' Picnic
Year 13s, the Wellbeing Committee and Ako Tuakana leaders jointly hosted the 2024 Teddy Bear Picnic for the Year 9s. Students Garrett Amyes and Robin Meijer run through the successful lunchtime event.
The front lawn was covered in food the Year 13s had brought in, from pizzas to homemade cupcakes decorated with fondant teddies. With the sun shining, everyone enjoyed a lunch filled with food, fun and friends and of course Teddy Bears.
Speakers blasted a playlist curated by our head students as many mingled and munched away on an idyllic, cloudless picnic day.
Some chose to sit in the shade of a tree, while others soaked up the sunshine. Stuffed animals of all shapes, sizes and species from prehistoric dinosaurs to ginormous bears had made the journey to UHC.
Bears could be found sitting on laps and roaming the school, with certificates being handed out left, right, and centre for a variety of teddy bears, from smallest, to most out of this world.
This event was an epic success, with many new friends made and full bellies it was a day to remember.
