UHC Sport is ready and rolling for 2024
Director of Sport Chris Campbell gives readers an insight into what's kicked off and what's coming up for our sports people.
The sporting year at Upper Hutt College has burst into action, with students eagerly embracing the opportunity to get active and participate in a variety of sports. It's fantastic to witness so many young people stepping up and giving sport a go, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to staying fit and healthy.
With most competitions now in full swing, our school grounds are buzzing with activity, and we're thrilled to see numerous informal options available at lunchtimes for students to further engage in their favorite sports.
If any student has missed out on registering for a sport and still wishes to participate, we encourage them to reach out to the Sports Office. We'll do our utmost to accommodate their interests and ensure they can get involved in the action.
As we gear up for some thrilling events on the horizon, I'm delighted to announce that we'll be locking horns with Kuranui College in our annual summer sports exchange. From futsal to tennis, our students will showcase their skills across a range of disciplines. After a triumphant victory last year, we're eager to continue our winning streak and bring home another triumph. Stay tuned for final details about the upcoming exchange.
Furthermore, in the upcoming weeks, we'll be proudly sending various teams to regional and national tournaments across the Wellington region. I have no doubt that our talented athletes will represent UHC with pride and determination, and I eagerly anticipate sharing their successes in the next edition of our newsletter.
I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and caregivers who generously volunteer their time to support our sports programs at UHC. Your dedication and support are invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for your contributions.
Let's continue to cheer on our teams, celebrate their achievements, and foster a culture of sportsmanship and camaraderie here at Upper Hutt College. Here's to a successful and action-packed sporting year ahead!
