Eggcellent omelettes in House Competition

UHC Admin —

Students in all four Houses competed in the first ever Omelette Flip-off, each taking on its own unique twist to reflect their House colour.

The event, run by Jackson House, was popular with participants.

Houses were given a basic recipe as a starter from which they could add some creativity to include their House colours.

Omelettes were judged on technicality - did it look like an omelette; yuminess; use of house colour, and professionalism - did we clean-up after ourselves.

Te Kanawa were the winners with blueberry sweet-omelette, followed by Blake, then Jackson and then Hillary.

Mr Crookston, the teacher in charge of Jackson House, said Te Kanawa "blue the competition away their berry-good entry". He enjoyed the opportunity to come up with plenty of self-confessed bad jokes about striving for eggs-cellence!

"The competition was a lot of fun and something very different for us all to be involved in."

"Thank you to Ms Hamer and Milan for the judging and their support with the room and direction."

The results, which count towards the overall standards saw the following placings:

  1. Te Kanawa
  2. Blake
  3. Jackson
  4. Hilary

Congratulations to all the teams for their efforts and to Te Kanawa for the win.

Thanks all for their support and is keen for it to continue in next year's House Competition.
