Spelling Bees conquer words such as chrysanthemum, belligerent, and arachnid!
Contestants from Year 9 and 10 had to survive two written rounds of 30 tough words at the recent UHC Junior Spelling Bee.
The top five spellers in each year level then sat in the pressure seats at the front of the room for the final elimination rounds. The finalists nervously wrote each new word on their whiteboard and then held it up for the scrutineers to find the top spellers.
Year 9 results were:
- 1st Suzanne Adriaanse 9AJ
- 2nd = Mina Nguyen 9SN and Jacinta Prince 9SN
- 3rd Jessica Fox 9SN.
