10AC's Logan Hartley has a win at the Southern Nationals Drag Racing meeting in Motueka.
The meet was the fourth round of the competition, and the win has meant that Logan now narrowly leads the points series.
Drag racing is when a driver travels the fastest from the green light to the end of the 200m track. A driver nominates themselves a handicap (called a DYO) depending on how fast their car goes, and if a driver goes faster than the DYO they are eliminated.
Points are available for the driver who is closest to the DYO and also the quickest to go after the green light. The juniors class, in which Logan competes, includes drivers aged 11 to 18 from around the country.
Logan won in the final with a time of 7.87 seconds, travelling at 134 kilometers per hour. This has put Logan first in the points series by a tiny margin for the first time in his six years of racing.
