Coco gains Scholarship Painting
2024 UHC Art student Coco Zhou has successfully gained scholarship in Visual Arts. Head of Visual Arts, Shannon Read, runs through the success.
Visual Arts Scholarship is a separate assessment that goes beyond the final three panel folio board.
Students submit eight A3 workbook pages of imagery and writing, detailing their thoughts, ideas, and creative processes behind their year-long body of work.
The workbook demonstrates not just skill, but deep critical thinking and conceptual development.
Coco’s work was deeply personal, told through self-portraiture, and the conceptualization of her ideas led to some truly beautiful visual outcomes.
This success places Coco in the top 3% of NCEA Level 3 Painters in Aotearoa NZ for 2024.
