Despite the changes in NCEA Level 1 last year, our results were good and certainly well above the national average. NCEA Level 2 and 3 results were very pleasing, as the figures show.
Year 11 - NCEA Level 1
UHC Pass rate – 75% (76% in 2023).
National average – 45% (62% in 2023)
88% of students gained Literacy compared to the national average of 77%
82% gained Numeracy compared to the national average of 75%
Year 12 - NCEA Level 2
UHC Pass rate – 78% (87% in 2023)
National average – 73% (73% in 2023)
Year 13 - NCEA Level 3
UHC Pass rate – 80% (74% in 2023)
National average – 69% (68% in 2023)
Māori & Pasifika learners at NCEA Level 1
At NCEA Level 1, 65% of our Māori students gained this qualification, compared to 70% in 2023. The national average for Māori students was 40%.
54% of our Pasifika students gained NCEA Level 1, a drop from 78% in 2023. The national average for Pasifika students was 37%.
For (our) Māori and Pasifika students in particular, gaining the co-requisites of Literacy and Numeracy for NCEA Level 1 is challenging.
