The Languages Faculty recently hosted eight students and an accompanying teacher from Akenohoshi Catholic Girls’ School, Fukuyama, Japan as part of an exchange school visit.

This private Catholic school was our host school on our last Japanese language learning study trip in 2018. We have a special relationship with this school and it was lovely to be able to return to in-person visits after several years of being restricted to virtual exchanges via zoom.

Eight Villa Maria College families generously hosted the students during their time with us, extending wonderful care to each visiting Japanese student.

The students returned to Japan with glowing reports of their stay here and fond memories of everything they experienced.
