Katie Emms —

This week we profile Katie Ward and let you know of upcoming service opportunities.

Katie Ward

Hello, my name is Katie Ward, and I am a Year 10 student here at Villa Maria College. I am going to share with you how I have been actively involved in my church community recently... I have started helping teach and be a leader to a small group in my community with the Brothers of St John. I began helping with first Holy Communion seven weeks ago, and have really enjoyed it. I recently helped my group make their first reconciliation which was a very big milestone in their religious journey. I love being involved, giving up my time for others and being able to help many of these young kids take big steps in their faith journey. One reason I began helping with first Holy Communion was through my mum. My mum pushed me to get involved with my community even when I was very hesitant, and without her help I probably wouldn’t be helping my church community in the way I have been. Thank you!
