Service Stars 🌟
This week we recognise the wonderful work of the liturgical band and profile two of its members - Maria Dias and Jess Byrne.
Maria Rita Dias – Year 8
I absolutely love the liturgical band. It’s not just a place to sing, but a place that brings girls together through Christ. When I was singing at the Easter Liturgy, I felt so connected with God and with the other girls too. The music is so beautiful and I love the violin! I’m so privileged to be in this lovely band and I encourage you to try out too. It’s an amazing opportunity and I will be doing this next year for sure!
Jess Byrne - Year 11
Music is one of the many ways I connect with God. The liturgical band sings praise to the Lord which is important to me. I have met and connected with like-minded people who feel the same way I do; I have formed friendships with people who I otherwise may not have met if it weren’t for the liturgical band. It is an amazing group of people, and we have a lot of fun while playing. Although we haven’t played many songs this year, the ones we have I really love. I am truly grateful to be able to share my experience with others and I hope it encourages more people to join the liturgical band.
