Hannah Hoare (Year 11) is going to Hawaii!

Hannah has been selected to represent Aotearoa National u18 Girls Māori Football team Ngā whanapoikiri Hine – Kurangaituku to play against Hawaii this July 2023.

Late last year Hannah trialled and was selected to represent the South u16 Girls Māori Football Aotearoa team in their match against the North held in Auckland in January. Hannah was also asked to play for the u18 Girls team at that same tournament.

Hannah had two very successful games and was rewarded with the Overall MVP Goalie Award and the u18 Girls MVP for the South Award. This event also doubled as trials for a National team to represent Aotearoa NZ in “Clash of the Cultures”, leading to the successful selection to represent Aotearoa National u18 Girls Māori Football team.

"This is an amazing opportunity for her and we are excited for the future opportunities participating in such an event could bring, both from a sporting and tikanga perspective", said Hannah's father, Scott Hoare.

Congratulations Hannah! We are very proud of your efforts!   ⚽
