Villa Celebrates all that is Culture

Mel Lawrie —

Students showcased their diverse cultures within the college at our first Cultural Fusion night for 2023 on the 1st June to a sold out space.

Firstly, being welcomed into the foyer, viewing senior art portfolios while listening to our Irish Band playing many a gig. The audience were then entertained with a range of singing, dancing and musical talents from a variety of genres and cultures, the evening was a celebration of College diversity.

Our ears and eyes were entranced by the creative and colourful choreography, from the traditions of Pasifika, India and the Philippines, to Kapa Haka and high-impact Hip Hop.

Our musicians and singers raised the roof, with invigorating drumming, to gentler marimba and chamber music; while the choirs, duets and solo acts delivered stirring performances.

In appreciation of the stand-out performances of each student involved, the audience helped energize the event by cheers and encouraging shouts.

Cultural Fusion is an occasion not to be missed. Well done to all the students and staff involved!
