The Villa Maria College Cricket Team have had a busy week competing in the Gillette Venus Cup qualifying tournament in Christchurch.

Two wins and one loss on day one set the girls up for a semi-final showdown against Christchurch Girls' High School on Thursday at the Polo grounds.

Villa restricted CGHS to 104 in their 20 overs thanks to some tight bowling and a couple of terrific catches in the outfield. 

While Villa came up short in their run chase, they performed well over the week and should be proud of their efforts. Christchurch Girls' High School went on to win the final against St. Margaret's College.
