Level 3 History visit to Te Whare Waiututu, Kate Sheppard House

On Wednesday, the two Level 3 History classes visited Kate Sheppard House where Kate Sheppard and her Family lived from 1888 – 1902, and where much of the work of the New Zealand women’s suffrage movement took place.

The students explored the grounds and museum and examined historical sources related to their study of New Zealand Women and the vote. At the end of the visit, the students sang Ka Waiata, to tautoko Ava after she thanked the staff at Kate Sheppard House for welcoming us.
