Level 3 - Psychology - semesters

Helen Nicholson —

Psychology is the study of human mind and behaviour.

Entry Recommendation for Level 3 Psychology

Nil.

Introduction

The aim of Psychology is to understand how we think, feel and act the way we do.

Content

We will investigate the main approaches to Psychology - behavioural, biological, cognitive, humanistic and psychodynamic. These will be taught within the context of aggression. We will also investigate a key piece of research such as the Stanford Prison experiment or the Dunedin Study and see how this has impacted on society today.

Skills

Through studying psychology, students become more self-aware. As they read and learn to use research papers, case studies, surveys, experiments, and observations, they develop their capacity to understand people’s behaviours and responses to real-life situations and societies, past and present.
