How we communicate with students and families
Here's a summary of the various ways we get our messages out to you
Villa App
The App is a must for parents and students. In the App store or Play store, search for SchoolAppsNZ and then for Villa Maria College. Here you can:
Access the Parent Portal where you can see attendance and student results
Read the Student Notices
Report an absence
Read the weekly newsletter
Check upcoming calendar dates
Link to our Facebook page and website
Receive text alerts to remind you of important events, or in case of emergency.
Student Notices
Student notices are read out to students in Ako twice a week. They're used by staff and leaders to advertise upcoming events and meetings.
Parents and students can access these notices through the Villa App.
Students can also read the notices, see their timetable and access the portal on their laptop from the start up page.

You're reading it now so you will know that this includes a message from the Principal, a student focus on what's happening at the College, and events.
Teams
All students have Microsoft Teams on their laptop. It is used by staff and College Leaders to communicate with specific groups. Students receive notifications when messages are sent to a Team they belong to. We limit sending messages to before and after school so as not to interrupt learning.
