VLN Primary/OLC Merger Update

An update on where we are at in our mahi with our secondary colleagues:

Tēnā koutou katoa

The VLN Primary and OLC are continuing to work through a process to amalgamate and become one single, national Yr 0-13 organisation. Thanks to members of our respective online communities who gave feedback on the proposed names for our new organisation. We received a number of responses and some useful feedback from school principals, teachers, students and the Ministry of Education.

After careful consideration, and with the support of ngā Mātauranga Māori Kaiarahi, we are thrilled to announce our new name as :

Kōtui Ako represents our kaupapa of linking together in learning, ‘haere kōtui’, arm in arm in partnership with schools.

We feel this name strongly reflects our values and vision of enabling equity of access to learning opportunities for all ākonga, through a connected community of schools, teachers, students and whānau, throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

While we continue to work through the many tasks required to fully merge our organisations, you will find that the OLC and VLN Primary may still use their current branding/identity until such time as a new identity is launched.
