Celebrating our ākonga!

Throughout the year our eTeachers share and celebrate what learners are achieving. This year we'd thought we'd showcase some of their mahi a little further - a gift for Christmas!

India from Geraldine High School wrote a Pablo Neruda inspired poetry in Creative Writing (with eTeacher Alana March)...

If I were to write an ode
It would be
To writing
It creates,
It destroys,
It calms,
It makes a world
Full
Of beauty

Zara from Te Puru School wrote an ode extolling the virtues of being a  VLN learner

Mentoring

Sophia's Mentoring Project: Writing a narrative VLN Primary

Students in our mentoring programme (with eTeachers Alia Malik and Jen Hammonds) presented their project progress on Zoom at the end of the year. Check out Sophia's narrative project based on Lyre the dragon who can't grow up, with a Q&A from the audience at the end.

These are just a few snapshots from student mahi through out the year. Despite the circumstances it's been a great few semesters of learning and we're looking forward to what 2022 brings!
