VLN Primary's NZSL Competition! Whataroa School, West Coast by VLN Primary

Congratulations, NZ Sign Language!

NZ Sign Language week has just been and we celebrated with a competition to test your signing skills and creativity.

Ka rawe to all sixteen students from six schools across the country - you can check out the skill and creativity of all our entries here!  A big congratulations to Savanah from Whataroa School who took out the competition and won a NZSL clock from Moana Rd! We'll be in contact with your school so we can post out your prize.

What was the competition?

Students were asked to check out the NZ Sign Language alphabet poster and learn to sign,

'Kia ora, My name is ... , nice to meet you!'

Videos were judged on their creativity and the accuracy of signing. They were recorded on Flipgrid - a great tool for easy video creation with a whole lotta flare! Wish you'd entered? Sign up to our VLN Primary newsletter so you don't miss out on our next fun competition.
