Boarding and PPTA rostered home days and rolling strike.

Dio Communications —

There are a number of strike actions planned during Term 2. These are:

1. A rolling one-day strike on Thursday, 11 May for the Waikato Region.

2. Rostered home days:

  • Thursday, 4 May - Year 11s rostered home
  • Tuesday, 9 May - Year 12s rostered home
  • Tuesday, 16 May - Year 9s rostered home
  • Wednesday, 17 May - Year 10s rostered home
  • Thursday, 25 May - Year 11s rostered home
  • Tuesday, 30 May - Year 13s rostered home
  • Thursday, 1 June - Years 12s rostered home
  • Tuesday, 6 June - Years 10s rostered home
  • Thursday, 8 June - Year 9s rostered home

We ask in advance that boarders and their whaanau indicate whether they will require supervised study in the day school on the above strike action days or apply and endorse leave from boarding  following the usual processes at least a week before the event. Your continued support in ensuring that the duty of care of our girls is maintained is appreciated in advance.

There is also a ban for PPTA union members on meetings outside school hours (8.30 am to 4.30 pm) from day one of Term 2. This means the timings of our Learning Conferences have been adjusted.

Our upcoming Learning Conferences will now begin at 1:30 pm and conclude at 4:30 pm.

  • Years 11,12 & 13 Learning Conferences: Friday, 5 May and Wednesday, 10 May.
  • Years 9 & 10 Learning Conferences: Friday, 26 May and Wednesday, 31 May.

To allow staff to prepare for and host these conferences, school will finish early on the above dates. Classes will finish at 12:55 pm, and students can be collected from this time onward.

Supervised study will be provided in C Block for bus and boarding students from 1:40 pm onwards (after lunch). This is because buses will not arrive until 2:30 pm, and the boarding house will not be open until 3:00 pm on Friday and 1.30 pm on Wednesday.

Students that will leave boarding on Friday, 5 May and Friday, 26 May, before 3.00 pm must be organised with their gear in advance and take it to the day school. These students are invited to leave their belongings at Student Services for safekeeping.
