Netball

On Saturday night, we celebrated Hamilton Netball umpires at the inaugural Umpire Prize-giving. This was a great way for our Hamilton Netball community to recognise the hard work and dedication that has been put in this year by our umpires - not only on the court - but also behind the scenes.

Congratulations to Dio on being awarded the Jan Teesdale Cup for a school that has gone the extra mile with umpiring.

Our last netball games were held last weekend, and what a great day to play! The sun was shining, and there were some great performances from our teams to finish the season.

Congratulations to our Senior Social Blue team, who won the Senior Social Grade for 2022. Their final game was against Hamilton Girls' High School, scoring 36-15 in a  convincing win and a strong finish to an incredible season.

A special mention to our 9A team for placing third in the Year 9 Premier Grade, beating Cambridge High School in the play-off for 3rd and 4th.

To all of our coaches, managers, umpires, students, whaanau and friends, thank you for your time, effort and commitment to the sport we love. Bring on 2023!

Congratulations to the following Dio netballers invited to a Magic in the Making Player Development Session through Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone.

Get2Go

The Get2Go squad split into three teams for the Soaked in Adventure, a six-hour adventure race. There were stunning conditions, racing over Waikato farmland and some big hills. Everyone gave 100%, with our combined Dio/St Paul's Collegiate teams taking out the top three spots in the mixed student division!

Cheerleading

The Dio Cheerleading team placed 2nd at the Cheerfactor Competition held in Hamilton over the weekend.

They also competed at the recent Schools' Spectacular Competition in Auckland, finishing 5th and in their division pulling out some fantastic stunts.

Thank you to the coaches and Tracey at Cheer Dynamix 007 for all you do for the girls and the whaanau and staff who support the team.

Football

Dio Junior A Thunder Team competed at the 5-a-side Football Tournament, coming second equal in their pool after five games, only missing the final on goal differential. Thanks for all the support from the coaches and parent support!

Alexandria Endres, our code Captain of Cue Sports, has some extraordinary talent! Alex has been selected to represent NZ at the World Junior 9 Ball Championships in Puerto Rico in November. She has also been offered a spot in a women’s pro event just prior! Congratulations, Alex!
