Olivia Bayne —

We hope you have had a fantastic start to Term 3 and have started with a positive attitude. With the anticipated senior-derived grade exams fast approaching, we hope you are feeling prepared and ready to give your best. How crazy to think that we only have half the year to go? As a collective, let's make the most of the opportunities and finish the year on a high.

Senior Ball

In the final week of Term 2, we had our Dio Senior Ball. It was a night on which amazing memories were made, and it truly was magical. It was so lovely to see everyone having a wonderful time. My personal favourite moment was the prefect dance. We had put so much time and effort into preparing ad rehearsing, and it went off! A HUGE thank you to Head of Events, Cindy Standford, Events Coordinator Mrs Murphy, and the Events Council for organising such a fabulous night.

Dance Showcase

Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 of August was our annual Dance Showcase, an evening to celebrate our incredible dancers and the hours they have dedicated to their dancing and their performance.  See the gallery in this publication for photos from this event.

Production

Only one week away until our Level 3 drama production! Countdown on! Both Cooper and I are a part of this performance, and we would love to get some support from our school community. The Level 3 production is Noises off. It is a comedy, so get along! Sign up on the drama room door or email Ms Armitage larmitage@wdsg.school.nz to reserve a seat.

Commonwealth Games

The 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham was a huge success, with a record medal haul for Team New Zealand.  As a school, we can be so proud of our Old Girls who have not only competed at the Games but also won medals in their events. We look forward to following other Old Girls as they qualify for future Games.
