Cyclone Gabrielle has a long tail

Dio Communications —

Our Dio catering team and other restaurants and households are feeling the pinch of the country’s supply chain issues, which Cyclone Gabrielle and freight issues have significantly impacted.

There are also major staff shortages in key supply chains across the motu. Products can't move around the country without drivers, and production chains are affected due to low staff. This is on top of issues with a short supply of some goods, from recent weather and more general Covid pressures.

The products most affected included salad packs, bananas, kumara, stone fruits, tinned fruit and vegetables, and it is likely to get more challenging over the next few months.

Our chefs are doing their best to source ingredients, but please be aware that some items are in short supply, and menus may have to change at short notice.

Catering Manager, Brad Bakker would love to hear from any Dio whaanau who might be in a position to help out with some much-needed fresh supplies in the short term catering@wdsg.school.nz
