Moxon House - Year 9 - First Term in Boarding
To start term one we had two three day weeks that were action packed with team bonding activities.
A highlight was the soccer game with the year ten boarders. These weeks were followed by an in-weekend where we enjoyed a trip to Rainbows End. On our trip, we were split into groups with people from all of the year groups. Once in these groups, we had a scavenger hunt, and then we went with our friends on the rides of our choice.
When Valentine's Day came along, we had a love-themed dinner and a love-themed dance competition. The week before the event, years 9 and 10 were split into groups, and they collaborated to make a dance, which was then showcased on Cherrington's lawn.
Then we had camp and a day school event, but the year 9s had fun with their day school and boarder friends. On the first night of camp, Whaea Jackie and Miss Maree came to camp in the afternoon. This was a lovely surprise as not many of us knew we would have visitors.
Our most recent event was the easter themed dinner. Both a best-dressed competition and a colouring competition were held. Mimi Savill and Peppa Gribble were the two winners from year 9 in those competitions. Well done to them. Those were the competitions across all boarding, but in Moxon, we also had a dorm decorating competition and another colouring competition. Our winner for the dorm challenge was the red dorm, and the winner for the colouring competition was Madi Pointon for her Taylor Swift-inspired piece.
The start of year nine is going great for Moxon, and we are so excited to come back and start term two.
