Outstanding work from our Senior A team, who won the competition and our Senior Development, who finished in 8th place. Congratulations to Maclaine Stuart awarded the Most Valuable Goalie in the Girls' Division.

Shout out to our dedicated coach Jamie Campbell who has done a fantastic job helping the team develop and improve. A great testament to teamwork!

Volunteer of the Month

A huge shout out to Sian Foot, our Junior Premier Netball Coach, for being awarded the Ham City Cadbury Netball Volunteer of the Month. Sian has been involved with school, uni and rep teams for years, and we are honoured to have her as part of the Dio Netball group.

Karate

Congratulations to Year 12 student Lilli Parres on placing 2nd in Oceania and 1st place Australian Open Female Kumite Junior 66kg title at the recent Oceania Cadet and Junior Karate Championships.

Squash

This year, Dio has re-established Squash.

Dio took a team of six students to Cambridge to play in the Waikato Secondary Schools' Individuals Squash tournament.

The girls put up a good fight and came away with a new understanding of playing squash competitively. The team gave every game a good go and fought hard.

Indy Furniss won the special plate in Division 4, and Bianca Alcock won Division 3.

Three teams also represented Dio in the Waikato Secondary School Teams event. Although the teams did not place, the squad performed beyond expectation and were terrific ambassadors for Dio.

The improvement in all players was evident over the two days, and everyone should be proud of their effort - a special thank you to Mrs Seager for taking the girls and supporting them.

If you are interested in joining the Squash Squad for training, please let Mrs Seager know. We train with NZ Coach Emma Millar from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Lugton Courts.
