From the Principal

Mary Curran —

The year is well underway, and the girls have begun wholeheartedly throwing themselves into their academic and extra-curricular activities. The momentum of the year is rapidly gaining traction!

The girls seem happy and settled, and I am reminded that teaching and learning are most effective when girls feel safe and secure and have a genuine sense of belonging.

We work hard to create a warm, caring environment where all our girls feel known and valued. The support and encouragement they receive from their teachers is integral to their personal and academic development.

I sincerely thank the Parents' Association, which hosted our mix and mingle on the Cherrington Lawn last Friday night (see photos below). It was a stunning evening where staff, parents and Board members could meet and chat.

Our students have always made us proud regarding their NCEA achievement. It is a source of pride to see that Waikato Dio's results operate well above the national average and our decile band. Congratulations again to all our NCEA students and their teachers on a mighty effort.

Blessings,

Mary Curran
