Dio's Career Website

Dio Communications —

Dio has a dedicated career website with career news, upcoming career events and other career information available to students and parents.

All Year 12 and Year 13 students are subscribed to the website, which can be accessed through the Dio website or by clicking the link here. Students receive a weekly newsletter detailing all the new career events, and news added that week. The website also has links to all the universities, open day information, information evenings, scholarship information and more.

We encourage parents to subscribe, as the information on the website can be a good way to start career conversations with your daughters. Click the Subscribe tab in the top right below the school crest and enter your email details. Once subscribed, you will also receive the emailed newsletter every week.

Tertiary Education Future Students Visits

At the sessions, each tertiary provider gives information about courses offered, scholarships, accommodation options, and the benefits of studying with them. The confirmed visits still to come are;

  • Canterbury University; Tues 21 March
  • Massey University; Wed 22 March
  • Otago University; Thurs 23 March
  • Lincoln University; Mon 3 April
  • AUT; Wed 3 May
  • Victoria University of Wellington; Thurs 4 May

Career Interviews

Students can request a career interview with the Head of Careers, Ms Wylie, swylie@wdsg.school.nz Interviews take approximately an hour during the school day. During the interview, Ms Wylie will discuss options that suit based on the student's interests, strengths, subjects and where they would like to study/work when they leave Dio. For Years 11 and 12 students, there will be a focus on ensuring they have the correct subjects to keep their options open.
