Dio Communications — June 24, 2024
Congratulations to Year 11 science superstars Sarah Wang, Chloe Hopkins, Cate Young, and Gabriella Schuitemaker, who won the years 11-13 EPro8 Challenge Grand Final!
EPro8 is an inter-school science and engineering competition. Every year, over 25,000 students from throughout New Zealand take part. Students participate in a series of events: firstly within their school and then inter-school. These events are designed to promote science, engineering and problem-solving.
Remarkable achievement, team Dio
We are so proud of our students Joie Lin, Emilee Mehrtens, Diny Zhou and Claire McKelvie, who recently competed in the Analytical Chemistry Competition at the University of Waikato. They came first, beating out 26 other teams across the region! Thank you to the event convener, Dr Michele Prinsep, for her organisation of such a great competition
On Friday 21 June, our Level 3 Sports and Exercise Science students descended upon Ngaaruawaahia for the Tough Guy Tough Gal Secondary Schools event.
Students race each other and the clock to obtain the best possible time to be assessed against the requirements for 'Quality performance of a physical activity in an applied setting'.
Reflecting on the event, the students acknowledged their feelings of accomplishment, how it was challenging but achievable, and how the collective energy that they brought positively impacted their motivation and drive to push hard.
