Gateway to Opportunities

Kym PlaistedMarch 17, 2024

Our Gateway programme has had a busy start to the year. Dio has 30 funded spaces through the Tertiary Education Commission and had 110 applicants this year!

Ava Bower, Sylvia Gebhart, and Sabrina Atherton work at House of Wonder—Busy Bees in Chartwell. As part of their programme, they will spend five Mondays at the centre this term, working with children from babies to school-aged children, plus their ECE learning units.

Claire Johnstone, Safia McLeod, Hayley Johnstone, and Lizzy Foy work at Les Mills one day a week, plus their learning plans to support their work experience.

Next term, we have Aviation, Animal Care, Equine, and Countdown placements starting. Recently, a number of Gateway students attended a First Aid course at school as part of their programme.
