Dio Communications — August 29, 2024
Applications are now open for Gateway placements in 2025.
Gateway is available to support Years 11-13 students by providing structured workplace learning across a range of industries while they are still studying at school.
The programmes are an opportunity to build skills for employment and to try out potential careers.
To be eligible for funding, students must complete a minimum of 20 credits and have 5-10 days of work experience.
Some students may receive approval to complete their placements during school hours, or alternatively, this can also be arranged where possible during the school holidays.
Students must display self-management, motivation, and reliability skills and have a good attendance record.
There is no cost for any programmes provided the student completes and achieves the programme in full as agreed before the placement.
Spaces are limited and subject to funding and availability. Students will be interviewed, and placements will be approved by Deans/DPs.
More information can be found here.
Students applications can be made here.
Two courses are running at the end of Term 3, which allow students to gain valuable employment skills or to earn extra credits towards NCEA.
