This year, our Waikato Diocesan School Altrusa Award recipient is Stephanie Gutsell.
The Altrusa Youth Award recognises Year 12 students from around the Waikato who excel in school life and are considered role models within their community.
Stephanie volunteers inside and outside of school as a gymnastics coach and judge, a youth search and rescue volunteer, and a volunteer lifeguard. She does peer tutoring in Dio for Maths and Science and is also the flute section leader in our school orchestra. She does all of this while maintaining excellence across her NCEA studies.
When asked, why do you volunteer? Stephanie responded, "Because it's the right thing to do, and I enjoy helping others."
We are super proud of you, Stephanie, and grateful for the many hours of selfless aroha you give to make our community a better place. 💙❤
