We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our school auditioned choir, Bel Suono, as they represent us at the New Zealand Choral Federation Big Sing Finale competition this weekend for the second year. Our choir members have again demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and teamwork, making us immensely proud.
The whole Big Sing Finale (sessions and gala) event will be live-streamed on the NZ Choral Federation’s YouTube Channel and via The Big Sing Facebook page.
The choir would love your support, so please watch it online (unless you are fortunate enough to be there in person!). Bel Suono is performing 2nd in Session 4 on Saturday at approx. 11.15 am and 5th in Session 8 on Sunday at approx. 11.50 am.
Participating at this national level is a testament to the relentless effort put in by our choir members, guided by our Director of Music, Maria Colvin, accompanist Angela Smith, and the dedicated Dio music department.
Congratulations to all our performers at this week's High Achievers Concert.
Thank you to our adjudicators, Victoria Trenwith and Jane Martin, for deciding the awards in each category.
Congratulations to:
The Art Council put on a fantastic cake auction, supported by Mr D as our auctioneer. Students made a whopping 17 cakes and nine lots of cupcakes to raise money for our school charity this year, Star Jam, with $699 raised from the cake auction alone!
Wishing our Dio Jazz Band all the best as they compete at the Waikato Band and Orchestra Festival at 9.20 am tomorrow, Friday, 25 August, at The Gallagher Academy for Performing Arts at The University of Waikato.
