Principal's Sabbatical

by Mary Curran

Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of leading this great school. I feel that now is the time to take a step back, reflect on all we’ve accomplished, and envision what’s next for Dio as we continue to honour our vision to prepare confident, resourceful and resilient young women to make a positive difference in their world. To that end, I will be taking a one-term sabbatical in Term 3 this year. I am ever grateful to the Board of Trustees and Proprietors for giving me the time to reflect and refresh.

However, there is little dispute that the care of creation is fundamental to any reading. God has entrusted us with the stewardship and guardianship - kaitiakitanga - of this extraordinary planet.

Dio International Exchanges

by Claire Foot

What a wonderful experience our two Downe House exchange students had here in New Zealand, and what great ambassadors for Downe House they were. A massive thank you to the teachers, boarding staff and students for all that they did to welcome the girls into our community. But the real thank you must go to our two Dio host sisters, Gabby Hall and Olivia Bell and their families, who opened up their homes and gave them a genuinely memorable Kiwi experience.
