Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of leading this great school. I feel that now is the time to take a step back, reflect on all we’ve accomplished, and envision what’s next for Dio as we continue to honour our vision to prepare confident, resourceful and resilient young women to make a positive difference in their world. To that end, I will be taking a one-term sabbatical in Term 3 this year. I am ever grateful to the Board of Trustees and Proprietors for giving me the time to reflect and refresh.
During my sabbatical, I will use an internal evaluation cycle that will include engagement with all stakeholders to focus on exploring the following:
As I prepare for my sabbatical, the need to keep leadership stability in the school is at the forefront of my mind. We are fortunate to have many staff who can step up in my absence.
Mrs Sonja Maree, Associate Principal - School Wellbeing, will be the acting principal while I'm on sabbatical. Mrs Jo Munn will step up to the Deputy Principal - Wellbeing role, and Mrs Annie Mercer will cover the part-time teaching position in the Hub.
Mrs Maree and Mrs Munn have many years of experience in leadership and knowledge of education and education at Dio. The school will be in capable hands.
I look forward to returning to my role as Principal at the start of Term 4, 2023, with renewed energy and focus.
Blessings
